Description:
The Brabham BT52, designed by the legendary Gordon Murray, was one of the most radical Formula One cars of the 1980s. Created in just six weeks after ground-effect cars were banned in 1983, its arrow-shaped design, compact packaging, and BMW turbo power made it a symbol of innovation.
Driven by Nelson Piquet, the BT52 secured the 1983 World Championship, making Piquet the first driver to win a Formula One title with a turbocharged engine. His battles with Alain Prosts Renault and Ren Arnouxs Ferrari defined the season, with Piquets consistency and BMWs raw power proving decisive.
The cars striking white-and-blue Parmalat livery, explosive 1,000+ horsepower qualifying boost, and pioneering design etched the BT52 into Grand Prix history. It remains a fan favourite, representing both Brabhams engineering brilliance and the turbocharged drama of the early 1980s.
